"A garage is a garage is a garage" to most people. It is unknown when the stable was removed, but a good guess is was many years prior to the garage being built. This garage was built in 1937 by James Kendrick, Sr. In the cement threshold of the garage door, James' initials still exist. Terry Mendenhall said that in a steel beam overhead in the garage, there was a sign of some sort that stated the year that the garage was erected. The remodel of 1992 has hidden this artifact.
The first car parked in the garage was James' 1930 Ford Model A, which was very similar to the one shown here. This picture was borrowed from an eBay listing. Today, it is home to David's 1966 Chevrolet Impala. As you can imagine from the photographs below, it is a tight fit. There is a mere three inches on either side of the car when passing through the garage doorway.
