This is the original bathroom to the house. It has gone through some renovations over the years however. The only thing that we have done to it since we moved in was to paint it. Originally, there was a smaller sink in the same general area, and the bath tub was beside it. The toilet was located pretty much in front of the window. We have included a couple of diagrams below.A story shared with us by a Mendenhall family member was that one warm summer evening, he was sitting on the throne with the window open. He said he sat there and listened to Johnny Cash singing at the State Fair.
Another major event that occurred in the bathroom was that on June 4, 1965, Rachel Kendrick was at the sink when she suffered a heart attack and passed out, hitting her head on the bath tub. Sadly, she died that day in the House's Bathroom. Nicole keeps her portrait in her Bathroom as a rememberance.
