Pueblo Chieftain, The - (Feb/26/2007 ADVERTISEMENT Mark Hudlin Mendenhall Monday, February 26, 2007 Mark Hudlin Mendenhall, 88, passed away Feb. 23, 2007, in Pueblo, Colo. He is survived by his children, Terry (Nelli) Mendenhall of Lenexa, Kan., and Janet (Robert) Hatton of Pueblo; sister, Marian Putnam of Pueblo; grandchildren, Phillip, Heather and Joel Mendenhall, Amber (Daryl) Jensen, Kiera and Elizabeth Hatton, and Olga (Chauncy) Mahan; sisters-in-law, Betty Broyles and Esther Austin; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Samantha Mendenhall, March 25, 2004; his parents; and brothers, Ralph and Porter. Mark was born March 24, 1918, in Caldwell, Kan., to Russell and Alta Mendenhall. He was a World War II veteran, having landed at Utah Beach D-Day plus five and fighting in the European Theater including the Battle of the Bulge. Mark worked in the lumber and hardware industry his entire life, retiring from Jett Supply in 1984. He and Samantha lived in Johnson and Wichita, Kan., Pueblo, Colo., and Columbia, Mo. Wife and family were always his greatest passion. Mark's love of hunting, fishing and the outdoors were an important part of his life. Samantha and Mark traveled a great deal during their retirement. Viewing, 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Service, 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at First United Methodist Church, 11th and Court, with the Rev. Eunjoo Yi officiating.
