LAKEWOOD LAND COMPANY

Prior to July 5, 1898

Governor Alva Adams The Landwood Land Company sold Lots 48 & 49 to Etta D. Dickerson on Monday, July 5, 1898. It currently has not been researched to find out when Lakewood Land Company obtained the land. Corporate information about the Lakewood Land Company also has not be research as of yet. However, the Deed shows that the President was Alva Adams. The Pueblo City Directory shows that Alva Adams was also the President of Pueblo Bank & Trust, and was associated with Holmes Hardware. It is unknown to us at this time how Adams fit into Holmes Hardware.

NOTE: A couple of notes regarding the images from the Pueblo City Directories. These images were obtained from the Pueblo City Library (Robert Hoag Rawlings Branch). The Library had this information on microfilm that was scanned and converted to digital files. We chose to keep as much of the image as possible, and cropped as little as necessary. While this may have made the target name and address a little bit hard to read, we wanted to keep the remaining names, addresses, and advertising in tact. Also, the Directories were not published every year. After 1907, they were published on average every other year. This will help explain why there appears to be so many gaps in some of the records. You will also find that we have included the directory listings for families before and after the time in which they lived in the house. We found it interesting to see where the families came from, and moved on to, so we decided to post them for your enjoyment as well.
