SIERRA FAMILY

1992 to 1996

David Paul and Cassandra Lynn Sierra purchased the home from H.U.D. in 1992. It is unknown what condition the house was in when they bought it. However, it is known that David and Cassie had a passion for fixing up older homes. How do we know this? Because David Sierra and David Webb knew each other in the 1980's. David (the current owner) did not realize that his previous acquaintance owned the home until he started doing research on it.

The City Directory shows sporatic information for David prior to him owning the house. There was no records of him in 1982, 1985 to 1992. The directory did show that in 1983 he roomed with someone at 1013 Ruppel Street, Apt. 223. The County no longer shows this as a valid address. In 1984 he was living at 2001 Jerry Murphy Road, Apt. 117.

Starting in 1993, the Sierras are shown as living in the house. David was an employee of the University of Southern Colorado, and Cassie was a Pueblo County employee. The directory no longer showed the Sierras living in Pueblo starting in 1996. Most likely this is when they moved out of the state.

Amazingly, contact with David Sierra was made via an online social network. During a brief series of conversations we found that he and Cassie now have four children, two sons and two daughters. Information found online shows that David A. and Davianna were young children when the family lived here. Carolynn and Alexander were born while the family called 1007 Lake Avenue home. They currently live in South Florida. We look forward to having them back in the house.

During one online chat, it was discovered some of the renovations that the Sierras were responsible for. We knew from a building permit that was pulled in 1992 that they did the Kitchen remodel and rebuild of the garage. But the Sierras were the ones that painted the wall in the Parlor red. We have since changed it to a burgandy. They were also the ones who insulated and electrified the attic. Until we find out differently, it is believed that the Sierras did a lot of the renovations to the house, including removing the paint from the oak trim in the entry way.

Over time, we hope to catch up more with the Sierras and find out even more details about the house. Stay tuned!
